Sherrards corporate and property lawyers advise on sale of Pizza Hut franchise

Sherrards has been advising its client KMP Taste Limited, one of the largest pizza franchises in the UK, on the sale of its entire issued share capital to Zaf Holdings Limited. With 28 Pizza Hut stores and over 500 employees within the business in the UK, the deal required a large team of property and corporate lawyers with sector experience and skills in franchising and retail.

Andrew Cooke, who headed the team at Sherrards, along with Charles Hodder, commercial property partner, worked closely with the corporate finance team at Smith Cooper. Both firms are members of the international network, the Alliott Group.

“Having worked with KMP Taste Limited for a number of years, acquiring Panando Limited for them in 2015 and dealing with their new leases in recent years, the Sherrards corporate and property teams are very familiar with the business. This helped to bring all the parties together and to move the deal forward”, commented Andrew Cooke, partner.

Pizza Hut was started in the US by two brothers in 1958.  It now has 16,000 restaurants in more than 100 countries.
