Welcoming Charles Hodder to Sherrards

Sherrards’ would like to announce the recent appointment of Charles Hodder, joining us in our Charles HodderLondon office as a Commercial Property Partner, following a move to the West End.

Charles Hodder has worked in commercial property for over 20 years and brings a great deal of experience to the firm and is well respected by clients. He achieves solutions for clients which are in their best interests and are also pragmatic and commercial.

Charles advises clients ranging from investors in commercial buildings to corporate occupiers, developers,  banks and other lenders. His experience encompasses a wide range of property types, including offices, shopping centres, retail units, industrial warehouses business parks and storage and distribution sites as well as high-value residential property, development land and country estates.

More recently, Charles has also acted for clients located overseas, particularly in Malaysia and Singapore, including major banks and investors in property. From this, he has gained valuable insight into the tax issues which are of particular concern in making investment decisions when acquiring UK property as well as clear understanding of the requirements of clients located in that region.

The focus of Charles’ work is on purchases and disposals, leases, renewals and leases re-gearing, alterations and portfolio restructuring and the property aspects of corporate mergers and acquisitions. He also advises on personal and corporate guarantees, and rent deposits as security for the performance of lease obligations. His work for banks relates to property finance and secured lending transactions involving commercial and residential property, with particular experience working with overseas mortgage finance teams of offshore banks.  Charles works closely with colleagues with complementary skills to deliver advice across construction, corporate, planning, tax and dispute resolution which are necessary to help clients achieve their business objectives.

Charles understands that every client is different and he works with each client to understand their objectives.  He understands the importance of identifying the key objectives of the client and working to find the appropriate structure and delivering the essential advice to provide speedy solutions.
