Priya specialises in employment law, advising clients in respect of both contentious and non-contentious matters. Her areas of employment law experience include acting for clients on Employment Tribunal matters involving claims for unfair dismissal and discrimination and providing advice to a variety of clients on day-to-day employment issues such as disciplinary and performance management, sickness, redundancy, contracts of employment, HR policies, recruitment and managing staff exits.
Priya joined Sherrards’ employment team in February 2017, having spent 9 years at the London office of Reed Smith, where she trained and qualified. She has substantial experience working in-house and has undertaken a number of client secondments, including providing employment legal support to a multinational energy and commodities trading client and working within the employment law team at a leading telecommunications company.
Having spent time working in-house within a client’s a corporate environment, Priya is fully aware of the importance of the commercial as well as legal considerations a client has to face and is able to provide advice tailored to those needs.
