Sherrards is a very different law firm to the one it was five years ago – and its recent move to modern, open plan offices in Beaconsfield Road, right next to the train station, is another step on the way to being an ideal place to work for those who value the benefits of living and working in St Albans but also want and need to work with clients in London and beyond. For Sherrards’ clients, many of whom are Hertfordshire based, as well as the growing number in London and internationally, they have easy access to leading lawyers with City expertise, local knowledge and international credibility.
With teams working seamlessly between the London and St Albans, the office locations next to City Thameslink and St Albans City are also ideal for clients visiting and working with the firm. With just 30 minutes door to door between the offices, the Sherrards’ team can be hugely responsive to their clients need for face to face meetings.
The move, just a year after London office move, is driven by the need for more space and for a more modern working environment. With a growing and more demanding and diverse client base, Sherrards has built a much stronger and larger team, through recruitment and also by developing its own talent.
Last month, Sherrards celebrated the promotions to partner of Mark Fellows (employment), Stephanie Kierans (commercial property) and Barney Laurence (dispute resolution). The management team was also strengthened ahead of further growth with Leigh Ecclestone stepping up to the role of Operations and Finance Manager and Julia Taylor joining as Marketing and Business Development Director.
Amongst the 22 new members of staff across both offices, there have been three newly-developed international teams – France, Russia and China. In addition, Sherrards recently introduced new residential property partner, Asha Ngai, who started at the beginning of the year.
Alasdair McMillin, managing partner, commented: “We are extremely lucky to have such strong teams to drive our expansion. They all offer unique qualities and have particular strengths that make them ideal future leaders. We are very proud to promote such outstanding individuals and to attract great new talent to the firm.”
The St Albans office relocated with effect from 30 May 2017, to – 4 Beaconsfield Road, St Albans, AL1 3RD (adjacent to St Albans City train station).
