At the recent Alliott Group AGM in South Africa, I was delighted to be re-elected as Chair of Alliott Group Legal, an alliance of law firms that is part of the Alliott Group. It’s a challenging role that demands much commitment, but it is hugely rewarding.
Our involvement in AG Legal is really important for the firm and our clients – rarely a day passes when we don’t have contact with a client or a professional in another part of the world, such is globalisation of our economy. Doors are opening all the time whether in Europe or much further afield.
Indeed, in the past month or so, we have opened doors and placed work with law firms in Sydney, Tokyo and Sao Paolo, as well as all over Europe. With over 170 members in 70 countries around the world, Sherrards enjoys truly international coverage.
Together with our close working relationships with UK Trade & Investment, the Law Society’s International Division, and our involvement in the International Bar Association and American Bar Association, I can say with confidence that there is not one part of the world that we cannot service, in order to support our clients, contacts and friends when the need arises.
And for any law firms that are in the mid-market and competing against the top tier, you are welcome to apply for membership. We are interested in talking to firms that provide a wide spectrum of corporate and commercial services. For more information, please contact me.
The clients of AG Legal member firms see Britain as a brilliant platform for in-bound business and a springboard to Europe – I only hope that the UK maintains an active role in the EU.
