Sherrards established its French team in the City of London to meet the needs of businesses looking to invest or export to the UK. It also provides legal services to clients doing business in the French speaking countries and elsewhere.
Our team has a wealth of knowledge on cross-border issues and can offer specialist advice on investment coming into or out of the UK. Our experience includes business acquisitions and disposals, mergers, company migration, employment law, commercial contracts, property purchases, intellectual property and international infringement of rights, debt collection and arbitration. We also provide legal advice to individuals looking to expand into the UK in relation to personal tax, immigration, estate planning and succession.
Our French team, headed by Geraldine Fabre, offers advice on the legal aspects of doing business in the UK and the French-speaking world. We have a comprehensive understanding of the legal, commercial and cultural environment of France and the UK and are able to offer our full range of legal services in French.
The team has a wide network of French contacts readily available to assist. Geraldine has been working on Franco-British matters since 1997 and is recognised as a leading adviser in her field by Chambers Global.
Sherrards is a corporate member of the French Chamber of Commerce in Great Britain. Members of our French team are also active in various organisations involved with the Franco-British community in the UK.
In collaboration with the UK Government’s Department for International Trade (DIT), (formerly (UKTI) UK Trade & Investment) Sherrards’ published the Export for Growth, guide aimed at businesses keen to exploit opportunities available through international trade.
