As winners of the St Albans Half Marathon Corporate Challenge 2016, Sherrards Solicitors are pleased to donate a £250 prize to Rennie Grove Hospice Care, a local charity providing care and support for patients with life-limiting illnesses.
Held on Sunday 12th June in Verulam Park with over 2,500 runners taking part, the Half Marathon saw a number of local companies competing against each other, raising over £24,000 for various charities. Participants included the University of Hertfordshire, Photiades, SA Law and Coca-Cola, among other local organisations.
Partner Leigh Head did a fantastic job completing the course in the quickest time at just 1 hour and 22 minutes. Amy Brunt, Leigh Ecclestone and Ryan Ecclestone also posted great times, resulting in the lowest combined total.
Kate Grigg, Head of Fundraising for Hertfordshire at Rennie Grove, comments: “We are thankful to Sherrards for their very kind donation and delighted that they won the challenge. Rennie Grove relies on the support and generosity of the community so this donation is invaluable to us.”
Leigh Head adds: “The challenge is a great opportunity to not only raise money for a great charity but to also encourage group activity and morale within your team and company. The Sherrards team did an amazing job and we are looking forward to competing next year to retain our Corporate Challenge title”.
