London based Sherrards Solicitors established its India Group to meet the needs of UK SME businesses looking to expand and export to India, as well as provide legal services to Indian companies and individuals wishing to do business in the UK and internationally.

With the Indian economy recognised as one of the fastest growing economies in the world and the UK being its strongest trading partner, we are seeing more and more cross-border business taking place between these two countries. Our India Group aims to help you minimise the legal risks involved in business between India and the UK by sharing our experience and expertise with you.

The team includes lawyers who have a comprehensive understanding of the legal, commercial and cultural environment in India, and have been operating there since the early 1990s. Keith Robinson sits on the board of an Indian plc listed on the main exchange in Mumbai.

In addition to the legal services listed, we are able to assist with debt recovery, dispute resolution, litigation, international arbitration (including LCIA hearings) and the enforcement of foreign judgements in the UK. We can also advise on technical collaboration, strategic planning and other aspects of carrying out business in India and the UK.

Sherrards Solicitors, in collaboration with the UK Government’s international trade agency, Department for International Trade (DIT), has recently published an Export for Growth guide aimed at businesses keen to exploit the opportunities that are available through international trade.
