Sherrards celebrates a trio of partner promotions
Previously Senior Associates, the trio have made a significant impact in their respective practice areas and have helped the firm to develop and grow in various ways.
Stephanie Kierans has progressed to Partner in the Commercial Property team, while Mark Fellows as Head of Employment has stepped forward into a Partnership role, and Barney Laurence has become a Partner in the Dispute Resolution team.
Alasdair McMillin, Managing Partner at Sherrards, says: “It is with great pleasure that we promote these three outstanding individuals within the firm. Stephanie, Mark and Barney all offer unique qualities to the Partnership and have particular strengths that make them ideal future leaders. On behalf of myself and the rest of the firm, I would like to congratulate them on their achievements and I wish them all the best in their new roles.
He adds: “We are lucky to have extremely strong teams and excellent lawyers across the business. We aim to support all of our people in achieving their goals with us, both personally and professionally. The Partners are working hard to ensure that opportunities are opened to people throughout the firm, at every level.”
Stephanie started her legal career at Sherrards in 2004 as a paralegal and trained with the firm through to qualification. She specialises in commercial property, including the acquisition and disposal of both retail and residential investment property and undertakes high volume transactional work within a variety of sectors.
Mark joined Sherrards in July 2008 from an in-house role with BT plc, and he specialises in advising both employers and employees on a range of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters.
Barney joined Sherrards Solicitors in 2005 from a London-based firm and handles all types of commercial litigation, specialising in actions involving High Court injunctions and franchise related disputes. He has achieved notable success including cases in the High Court and a defining ruling in the House of Lords.
The trio are excited about their future as Partners within the firm and look forward to new challenges as part of their on-going progression at Sherrards.
Over the past 18 months, the firm has grown substantially, having recruited 22 new members of staff across both offices and welcomed 7 new Partners on board. The firm is also set to move offices in St Albans on 30 May, to larger premises located directly next to St Albans City train station. The new premises will offer greater accessibility and connectivity for the firm’s staff and clients.
